Earlier this year we were fortunate to be able to work on the music packaging design for Gomez – Bring it On (20th Anniversary Edition) on behalf of Universal. Music packaging is one of our specialisms, having worked with many labels over the years including: EMI, Virgin, Realworld Records, Demon Music & Mais Um Discos to name a few. It is a challenging, enjoyable and often instinctive design niche – representing music and musicians with a visual identity.
In this case the brief was to stay in-keeping with the original artwork by Paul Collins and the sadly departed Reggie Pedro but at the same time to make the packaging special and add new elements. It was a privilege to be entrusted with such a seminal album and to design with Reggie Pedro’s beautiful original paintings
The final product delivered included a CD box set with 36pp book, 4xCD, poster, postcards featuring additional photography + 35 unreleased tracks. Also a 2-LP Coloured Vinyl, and 2-LP Black Vinyl.
